Whiskey and Me
‘Whiskey and Me’ are a 4 piece Blues/country act from the Sunshine Coast Hinterland in Queensland. Their sound is a pretty well a pickers delight combining 3 guitars, stomp box, mandolin, ganjo’s and blues harp with soaring harmonies made all the sweeter by the soulful vocals of Holly Maree. ‘Whiskey & Me’ are fresh on the live scene but boast extensive experience in the music industry with 2 of its members, Cale Fisher & Dale Mallett, (who have been singing together since they were 8) from international touring act ‘The Floating Bridges’ supported by well-known musician/Agent Brian Goodworth on lead guitar. Whiskey and me is about getting back getting back to Your roots on the family farm playing bluegrass/blues on well travelled guitars and singing harmonies with your friends, put all this into an old still and the end result is songs that really touch the musical soul! Between Dale, Cale and brian these guys have toured nationally and internationally playing festivals such as Woodford folk Festival, Boomtown Fair England, Glastonbury and many many more!
Fire and Whistle Theory
Contemplating life in a harsher environment, Fire and Whistle Theory, draw out their experiences into the midwest. Guns, horses and a taste of the humble pie. As a close-knit 5-piece outfit from Ipswich, main players Greenwood, Vogel, Locke, Pugh and Rosenthal, combine their love for blues and indie desert rock to put a little swing in your step. They take influence from The Black Keys, The Rubens, Queens of the Stone Age and The Rolling Stones, which is prominent in their exploration.
Their debut EP Golden Guns was described as, “in the dusty western landscape of blues and rock… the five-piece outfit have masterfully captured a fresh take on indie-blues with a slice of alt-country thrown in the mix for good measure,” by No Cure Magazine, when they received a 10 out of 10 EP review.
With prime time slots at Red Deer Music Festival, Airlie Beach Music Festival, Silk & Oak Show, ArtBeat and Desert Dog Music Festival, supporting interstate indie-blues bands, and getting ready to record new tracks, Fire and Whistle Theory is going onwards and upwards with golden guns blaring. Ain’t so bad for Mr Potential.

Birdman Randy & The Ivory St Preachers
Birdman Randy & The Ivory St Peachers are the in-house band at the Flying Cock. As one of the hardest working bands in Brisbane, they are available to play any special events or functions.
The band pride themselves on bringing a fresh approach to the songs that you love.
Birdman Randy have over a century of musical knowledge between them, they are a god-damn musical wizard’s beard of musical experience.
Aiming to “provide” heartfelt raucous rock and roll, with moments of musical clarity, and periods of honest live musical fuzzy edges, Woodshed don’t strive to be pretentiously meticulous or totally precise in their live performances, but rather a real, honest, hardworking creative band that want to take its audiences on journey of “in the moment” rock/blues in all its varying shades.
Woodshed’s protagonists are; Russell Napier (Guitar, Vocals), Chad Borchard (Bass, Vocals), Jason Green (Drums, Vocals). Apart from the obvious unique musical contribution of each member of the 3-piece, each member has other tactile strengths, for instance Chad with his smooth American accent and cool demeanor is the Showman of the Band, who guides audiences along with the band to their musical destination.
They are united in giving their fullest at each performance no matter the venue. Woodshed have performed in front of varying sized audiences at various venues, some of the highlights include The Zoo, Lefties, and the festival Fusions On The Field, playing along side bands such as Kingswood, Good Boy and Clea.
